As a group of young students who worked together for a few years in Scientific Club “SimLE” we have received almost 500K PLN grant from NCBiR E-pionier programe to create an autonomous landing module for UAV to allow drones to land on a moving platform, such as a car or a boat.

The main goal of the “e-Pionier” programme is solving important socio-economic problems in form of Pre-Commercial Procurement. This project is to encourage the polish administration to take innovative actions for the benefit of society.
Public institutions are invited to submit problems, which cannot be solved with current state of technology. They can cover a wide range of areas, such as security, personal data protection, accessibility for the disabled, aging of the population, climate change, reduction of energy consumption, improvement of transport efficiency or the use of cultural goods.
We are the first team, who has been qualified for this project. As part of our project’s assumptions we are to create prototype of the autonomous landing module.

The project will finish with acceptance test in which the Polish Scientific and Research Centre for Fire Protection – National Research Institute will check if the system meets the requirements. In addition, we plan to add battery replacement functionality.
